Rallenta il PMI negli States

l’indice PMI dei servizi italiano nel mese di maggio ha segnato un dato inferiore alle attese, pari a 54 vs 56.5 previsto e 57.6 del mese precedente. Anche in Germania e in Europa lo stesso dato ha deluso le attese, rispettivamente con un dato di 57.2 vs 57.8 atteso e 55.1 vs 55.9 atteso.

Il Presidente della BuBa Nagel ha detto che la BCE ha ancora bisogno di ulteriori rialzi dei tassi per contenere l’inflazione e non è sicuro che il picco verrà raggiunto questa estate.
Anche la Lagarde ha sostenuto, durante un suo intervento, che ci sono segni di rallentamento dell’inflazione ma è allo stesso modo vero che è troppo presto per parlare di un picco.

I dati mensili pubblicati dall’ISM hanno mostrato che l’attività commerciale nel settore dei servizi degli Stati Uniti ha continuato a espandersi a maggio, anche se a un ritmo più lento rispetto ad aprile. L’ISM Services PMI è sceso a 50.3 a maggio da 51.9 ad aprile, non rispettando le aspettative del mercato di 51.5; anche l’indice dell’occupazione è sceso, passando a 49.2 da 50.8. Anthony Nieves, presidente del Comitato di indagine sulle imprese di servizi dell’ISM, ha commentato che il rallentamento del tasso di crescita del settore dei servizi è dovuto principalmente al calo dell’occupazione e ai continui miglioramenti nei tempi di consegna.

Avvio di settimana positivo per il Regno Unito dal punto di vista dei dati macro: l’indice PMI composito inglese del mese di maggio ha battuto le aspettative di 53.9, arrivando a toccare 54.0. Bene anche i servizi, per i quali l’aspettativa sul dato di 55.1 è stata superata, fino ad arrivare a 55.2. I dati al momento allontanano lo spettro della recessione. Sunak torna a parlare del piano per contenere l’immigrazione nel Canale della Manica, un tema caro agli inglesi, sottolineando come il suoda quando questo è stato messo in pratica lo scorso ottobre, l’immigrazione è diminuita del 20%.
