Nubi sulla crescita UE

Le recenti stime dell’Unione Europea sul futuro dell’economia del Continente Blu hanno segnato uno stop.

Le previsioni hanno rivisto al ribasso la crescita economica allo 0.8% nel 2023, rispetto alle stime precedenti dell’1%, e all’1.4% nel 2024 dall’1.7%. Riguardo all’inflazione, la Commissione Europea prevede che continui a diminuire man mano che ci si avvicina alla fine dell’anno, stimandola al 5.6% nel 2023 rispetto al precedente dato del 5.8% e al 2.9% nel 2024 rispetto al 2.8% precedentemente previsto.

In attesa dei dati sull’occupazione del Regno Unito, il Ministro inglese delle Finanze, Jeremy Hunt, si è espresso sulle prospettive dell’inflazione. Hunt ha affermato che l’obiettivo inflattivo rimane sempre quello del 2%. Lo stesso ha poi aggiunto che il Governo potrebbe avere soldi extra da investire per ripianare le finanze pubbliche. Attenzione però a non immettere più denaro di quanto necessario nel sistema economico perché l’effetto netto potrebbe essere dannoso per l’economia. Notizia che invece preoccupa il mercato del lavoro è quella che vede Wilko, catena di negozi inglese, chiudere i battenti con una potenziale perdita di 12.5mila posti di lavoro.

In USA questa settimana l’attenzione si concentrerà sulle ultime letture dell’indice sui prezzi al consumo e dell’indice sui prezzi alla produzione, rispettivamente mercoledì e giovedì. Gli economisti si aspettano che l’indice CPI abbia accelerato al 3,6% in agosto dal 3,2% del mese precedente. Per quanto riguarda invece il PPI mensile gli economisti si aspettano un andamento dello 0,4% contro lo 0,3% del mese precedente. Gli effetti della stretta monetaria sul mercato del lavoro statunitense e la discesa dell’inflazione hanno portato gli esperti a pensare che un rialzo dei tassi della FED a settembre sia veramente poco probabile, ma che potrebbe invece avvenire a novembre o dicembre.
