L’IPC europeo diminuisce dello 0.3%. I deboli dati sulle vendite al dettaglio in Germania per ottobre aggiungono ulteriori prospettive di un taglio dei tassi da parte della BCE. Le vendite al dettaglio mensili diminuiscono dell’1.5% rispetto alle attese dello 0.3%. Su base annua, la misura della spesa dei consumatori è aumentata dell’1%, più lentamente delle stime del 3,2% e della precedente rilevazione del 3.8%. Nel frattempo, il membro del Consiglio direttivo della BCE e governatore della Banca di Francia François Villeroy de Galhau mantiene aperta l’opzione di un taglio dei tassi di interesse di dimensioni eccezionali nel suo discorso di giovedì. “Visto da oggi, ci sono tutte le ragioni per tagliare il 12 dicembre. L’opzionalità dovrebbe rimanere aperta sulla dimensione del taglio, a seconda dei dati in arrivo, delle proiezioni economiche e della nostra valutazione del rischio”, commenta Villeroy.

Negli USA, i verbali della Fed hanno contribuito a far salire le probabilità di un taglio dei tassi a dicembre. Il tasso di riferimento a 10 anni degli Stati Uniti si attesta al 4.19%, scendendo al minimo della settimana dopo la chiusura di giovedì.

In Regno Unito il PIL diminuisce dello 0.3%. Questo ha portato a speculazioni su un possibile taglio dei tassi di interesse da parte della BoE per stimolare l’economia. Nonostante l’inflazione sia scesa al livello più basso da oltre tre anni, pari all’1.7% a settembre, la BoE prevede che il bilancio espansivo presentato dal Partito Laburista possa aumentare l’inflazione di 0.5 punti percentuali al suo picco.
