Dopo alcuni dati economici statunitensi leggermente deludenti e segni di persistenti pressioni sui prezzi in assenza di dati rilevanti, il sentiment del mercato sugli Stati Uniti è attendista...

L’inflazione in Germania, misurata dalla variazione dell’indice dei prezzi al consumo, rimane invariata al 2,2% su base annua. La lettura risulta leggermente inferiore alle aspettative del mercato, che si aspettava un +2,3%. Il responsabile delle politiche della Banca Centrale Europea, Pierre Wunsch, per allontanare possibili prese di posizione, dichiara come “il taglio dei tassi di luglio non è un affare fatto”, siccome l’obiettivo è che la politica rimanga ancora un po’ restrittiva.

Gli occhi sono puntati su come Jerome Powell percepirà la situazione attuale nella riunione di domani. Da segnalare che le opzioni sui futures del Secured Overnight Financing Rate (SOFR)

indicano una probabilità più alta di un aumento dei tassi di interesse da parte della Fed quest’anno e il prossimo, data la resilienza dell’inflazione e del mercato del lavoro negli Stati Uniti.

Il Vicegovernatore della BoE, Dave Ramsden, dichiara che il rischio che l’inflazione rimanga elevata sia diminuito, prevedendo che sarebbe tornata all’obiettivo del 2% a maggio. Al contrario, altri esponenti della Bank of England, come il capo economista Pill, Haskel e Mann, non sono così ottimisti sulle prospettive dell’inflazione. Questi ultimi, prendendo come riferimento l’indice dei prezzi al consumo il quale è ancora alto a causa dell’ostinata tasso di crescita dell’inflazione del terziario, sostengono come i tagli siano ancora lontani.
