Il PMI taglia le gambe all’Europa

L’indice PMI del settore manifatturiero dell’Eurozona scende ancora, passando a settembre a 43.4 dal 43.5 di agosto.

Anche il manifatturiero italiano resta sotto il valore soglia di 50, nonostante in agosto sia aumentato a 46.8, marcando quindi una contrazione economica per il sesto mese di fila. L’ultima posizione in classifica per il PMI in Europa se l’aggiudicano Francia e Germania, rispettivamente con 44.2 e 39.6. La situazione non è delle più rosee e lo stesso vicepresidente della Banca Centrale Europea Luis de Guindos ha dichiarato in un’intervista al Financial Times che un taglio dei tassi è escluso e che anzi tornare all’obiettivo del 2% di inflazione non sarà facile.

Negli Stati Uniti, l’attività del settore manifatturiero ha continuato a contrarsi a settembre, con il PMI manifatturiero dell’ISM che si è attestato a 49. Questa lettura ha fatto seguito al 47.6 di settembre ed è risultata migliore rispetto alle aspettative del mercato di 47.7. I nuovi ordini sono saliti a 49.2 da 46.8.

 

Nel Regno Unito l’indice dei prezzi delle case segna ancora una volta un decremento. Il dato su base annuale ha registrato un decremento del -5.3% rispetto a un anno prima. La mossa della Bank of England di lasciare invariati i tassi dopo 14 rialzi consecutivi potrebbe aiutare ad allentare la pressione sui mutui e quindi facilitare le compravendite nel mercato del real estate. In totale le transazioni sono rimaste uguali, il fenomeno è dovuto, secondo Nationwide, al fatto che le case di piccole dimensioni non hanno subito rincari di prezzo sensibili.
