Il vicepresidente della BCE Luis de Guindos è intervenuto lunedì commentando la pubblicazione dei dati sull’inflazione della scorsa settimana, dichiarando che i recenti dati sull’inflazione sono una buona notizia, ma è troppo presto per dichiarare vittoria. De Guindos ha inoltre tenuto a sottolineare che l’orientamento della politica monetaria dipenderà dai dati. L’euro negozia ai minimi delle ultime tre settimane, con i mercati che scontano interamente un taglio dei tassi per il mese di aprile 2024, mentre per il mese precedente le probabilità si fermano al 70%. I dati in uscita oggi del PMI potrebbero confermare una stabilizzazione dell’economia, con il rischio di recessione che potrebbe allontanarsi. La Lagarde, attesa ieri in audizione, è purtroppo risultata positiva al Covid. Per quanto riguarda i prezzi dell’energia elettrica in Germania, gli analisti di Commerzbank hanno analizzato le prospettive a lungo termine, commentando che i prezzi dell’elettricità rischiano addirittura di aumentare nei prossimi anni, dati gli elevati costi della transizione energetica.

 

I dati sugli ordini industriali negli States scendono in ottobre dal 2.3% al -3.6%.  Da domani fino a venerdì in uscita il trittico di dati sul mercato del lavoro, con JOLTS, ADP e NFP.

Il Regno Unito resta intanto impegnato su due temi principali: l’immigrazione e il COP28. Se da un lato le dichiarazioni del governo in carica lasciano pensare a una diminuzione dell’immigrazione netta rispetto al record registrato nel 2022, dall’altro il discorso sembra un po’ più intricato. Re Carlo, durante il suo intervento a Dubai, ha affermato come le nazioni non siano sulla buona strada nella lotta al cambiamento climatico. Per stare al passo e non deludere le aspettative, Sunak ha riaperto il tema chiedendo un benestare di due miliardi a favore della sostenibilità.
