Nel Belpaese il PIL ha registrato un dato di 0.4%, inferiore alle previsioni che lo davano allo 0.6% su base annua, mentre l’indice PMI ha segnato un dato inferiore alle previsioni, pari a 45.4 contro 46 previsto. Sia a livello europeo che in Germania il dato PMI ha segnato valori inferiori alle previsioni.

La Sterlina Inglese si indebolisce a causa del sentimento ribassista del mercato e per il fatto che gli investitori vedono un ulteriore aumento dei tassi d’interesse da parte della BoE. I responsabili dell’istituto centrale londinese, tra cui il vicegovernatore Ben Broadbent e il capo economista Huw Pill, hanno avvertito che la politica sufficientemente restrittiva deve essere mantenuta più a lungo per far scendere l’inflazione al tasso desiderato del 2%.  Gli investitori sperano che l’economia britannica possa evitare una recessione, poiché l’aumento dei tassi di interesse sta avendo un impatto critico sul settore immobiliare e sulle attività industriali. Le prospettive economiche del Regno Unito sono peggiorate in quanto l’inflazione di base si aggira vicino ai massimi storici a causa della carenza di manodopera e della forte crescita dei salari.

l mercato del lavoro statunitense rimane solido, con i Non Farm Payrolls che superano le previsioni di 170 mila attestandosi a 187 mila, 30 mila in più rispetto al mese di luglio. La retribuzione oraria media è di poco sotto le aspettative e registra il 4.3% vs il 4.4% delle attese, mentre il tasso di disoccupazione è in rialzo nel mese di Agosto al 3.8%  vs 3.5% del mese precedente. Il Manufacturing Index dell’ISM fa registrare un incremento rispetto al mese precedente in cui lo vedevamo a 46.4 vs 47.6 attuale.
