I sorprendenti dati sull'occupazione non agricola di settembre sono stati tutt'altro che un atterraggio morbido...

Le crescenti speculazioni su un nuovo taglio dei tassi d’interesse da parte della BCE nella riunione della prossima settimana hanno mandato in tilt l’euro. Le aspettative sono aumentate a causa dell’aggravarsi delle preoccupazioni per la crescita dell’Eurozona e del calo dell’inflazione nel Continente Blu. Il membro del Consiglio Direttivo Schnabel, che è rimasta un falco dichiarato, ha espresso le sue preoccupazioni sui rischi per la crescita in un suo recente discoro, affermando che “non possiamo ignorare i venti contrari alla crescita”, mostrandosi fiduciosa sulla possibilità che l’inflazione scenda in modo sostenibile al 2% in tempi brevi, con un indebolimento della domanda di lavoro e ulteriori progressi nella disinflazione.

Il sorprendente dato dei Non Farm Payrolls di settembre, con un print di +254 mila vs +150k attesi, +159k precedenti rivisto da +142k, riporta i mercati a dover rivedere e riprezzare le aspettative sulla politica monetaria della FED: altro che atterraggio morbido! Il momentum per il Biglietto Verde appare essere ora rialzista, con il livello tecnico di 1.0950 come prossimo supporto. Il calendario economico nei prossimi giorni appare leggero, in attesa del CPI in uscita giovedì.

La sterlina britannica ha mostrato una buona performance rispetto alle principali valute, eccetto quelle nordamericane. Tuttavia, è prevista una pressione sulla sterlina a causa delle tensioni tra Iran e Israele, che sono sfociate in una guerra dopo l’assassinio del leader di Hezbollah Nasrallah. I prezzi del petrolio sono aumentati a causa delle tensioni in Medio Oriente, e storicamente un forte aumento dei prezzi dell’energia pesa sulle valute delle economie che dipendono fortemente dalle importazioni di petrolio. Inoltre, i commenti del Governatore della BoE Andrew Bailey sull’outlook dei tassi di interesse hanno indebolito le prospettive della valuta inglese.
