Obama Praises Harris at DNC with 75 Days Until Election Day<\/h2>\n <\/div>\n

The Democratic National Convention enters its third day today, with former President Bill Clinton set to deliver a keynote speech before former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi takes the stage.<\/p>\n

Yesterday evening, Chicago welcomed Barak Obama to the lectern where the former President spoke of how the US electorate were growing tired of Trumps conduct. Here, the most recent two term president maintained \u201cWe don\u2019t need four more years of bluster and chaos\u201d before adding \u201cWe\u2019ve seen that movie. And we all know that the sequel\u2019s usually worse.\u201d<\/p>\n

Instead, Obama spoke of how a Harris-Waltz administration can continue to progress made under Biden, who he congratulated on his achievements. He said that Democratic nominees \u201ccan help us move past some of the tired old debates that keep stifling progress, because at their core, Kamala and Tim understand that when everybody gets a fair shot, we\u2019re all better off\u201d.<\/p>\n

As we looked at on Monday, an aggregation of polls conducted by RealClearPolitics points to the incumbent VP holding a margin of 1.4 percentage points, putting her ahead of Trump in the presidential race. Race to the WH and 270toWin also put Harris 2.9 and 1.6 percentage points ahead of the Republican nominee, respectively.<\/p>\n

As we enter the third day of the convention, the Democrats will thus try to retain the momentum of the Harris-Walz campaign, particularly seeking to pick up undecided voters (which make up roughly 5% of voters) and those in swing states like Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Georgia and Arizona.<\/p>\n

We will therefore expect to see further praise of Harris at the DNC today, as a variety of speakers try to convince voters that the Democrats are best placed to handle key issues.<\/p>\n

According to Statista Research Department, the most important of these issue for voters in the US are inflation (25%), Immigration (11%), Healthcare (10%), Jobs and the Economy (10%) and Abortion (8%).<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Turkey Hold Rates Amid Easing Inflation<\/h2>\n <\/div>\n

Yesterday, the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey kept their benchmark interest rate unchanged at 50% for the fifth consecutive time, meeting market expectations.<\/p>\n

The latest interest rate decision comes as inflation fell by ten percentage points to 62% over the month of July \u2013 the second fall in inflation since the final quarter of last year.<\/p>\n

Here Policy makers noted that \u201cThrough the rebalancing in domestic demand, the real appreciation of the Turkish lira and the improvement in inflation expectations, it will reduce the main trend of monthly inflation and strengthen the disinflation process\u201d.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, with inflation still a far cry from the central bank\u2019s 5% target, Ankara are far from out of the woods.<\/p>\n

Gold Prices Hit Record Highs<\/h2>\n <\/div>\n

Gold prices continued to rise yesterday as they appreciated to their highest level on record. Prices rose as high as $2,530 dollars per ounce during yesterday session as investors continued to consider the impact of the Fed\u2019s future monetary pathway. Geopolitical fragility has also supported gold prices as investors and governments alike rush towards the safe-haven asset.<\/p>\n
